01 Comp Focus Light Photo

  • Basic Photography

  • Some Photos are just better than others.

  • Why are the Photos on the right just better than the ones on the left?...Well there are many reasons but if you keep three things in mind as you take your photos it will go a long way to taking stronger photos.

  • The first and strongest rule of composition is The Rule of Thirds

  • If you put your points of interest along the third lines then it will create a stronger composition.

  • The Second is Focus

  • Make sure that the point of interest is always in focus

  • Control DOF by Zooming in or out or making your aperture smaller or larger.

  • The easiest way to control your DOF is to use the aperture priority setting on your camera.

  • If you can’t get your camera to focus, move back and crop later. That is the advantage of larger mega pixels.

The Last Golden Rule is Light

  • Light from the side is usually far more photogenic than light that comes straight down.

  • So avoid taking photos in the middle of the day, mornings and evenings are best

  • Light from the front is less beautiful than light from the back.

  • Turn off the flash and leave it off forever.

  • Meh

  • Better

  • Best!
