Cropping and Image Size

Open an image in Photoshop.

Click the crop tool

Pick 4x5 (8x10) in the crop selection menu

Click the swap arrows to change from portrait to landscape if your photo has a landscape orientation.

Adjust your photo so it looks the best within the crop area.

Press return when you are done or escape to cancel the crop.

Changing the size of the photo.

Go to Image > Size.

Keeping the width and height linked, change the larger dimension to 800 and the other will automatically change to 640. Change Resample to Bicubic Sharper (reduction) if you are reducing the size of your image.

Create a new adjustment layer and adjust the levels and curves to make the photo look as good as possible.
