Four students from Mr. Farley's physics classes, three of them SLAM students, attended the OSIsoft User Conference on 4/28/2015 to present a video they created. The video showed a physics project using OSIsoft's PI software to measure energy use at the District Office. Physics students analyzed the electric current used in lights and receptacles over time and found many areas where energy could be conserved and money saved. The video of the project is below:

The students were treated with front row "Executive" seats, their video was played right before the Keynote Address, and the students and Mr. Farley were given an award for their work.

Mana Afshari, Customer Support Engineer for OSIsoft said," I watched it from the employee-specific room which had over 600 employees watching the talks. The amount of excitement in the room from watching your video was really great.

You guys did a fantastic job in working with the PI Software, in coming up with the energy management related suggestions for the district, in writing a well-prepared suggestion letter and in creating the WONDERFUL video. Thank you!"

John Matranga, Director of Customer Innovation and Academia said,"I haven't talked to all 1500 attendees, but everyone I talked with loved the story."

Jim Lovell and Gene Kranz from Apollo 13 spoke at the conference and the students were invited up to an exclusive luncheon with the Apollo 13 speakers and other VIPs.
