Getting started on your website

1. Open Chrome. The New Google Sites can only be built using Chrome.

2. Go here: https://sites.google.com/new

3. Press the plus sign at the bottom right of the screen.

If you ever need to create another site, you can do it by pressing the plus sign.

3. This site is going to be your SLAM Portfolio Site. The place where you show the skills you learn and the assignments and projects that show those skills. This is not a place for memes unless they are memes you create. It is not a place for a bunch of animated GIFs unless you created those GIFs.

This is your professional site and should show your work professionally.

This site and the contents that you put on this site will be a large part of your Multimedia grade.

Each post to your site should show the work as well as include a discussion of what you learned by doing the project, how the project shows what you learned, and your reflection on what you created.

4. Title your site: Your Name's Digital Portfolio.

5. Post your sound story on your front page by clicking the Embed Youtube button.

6. Go to your video on YouTube and click the Share button. Copy the share link.

7. Paste the share link in the box.

8. Resize the video so it spans half the page and double-click the white space on the other side and select Text. This creates a text box. Type "Sound Story" and then explain what the project is, how you created it, and what you learned by creating it.

9. Make the words "Sound Story" into a heading by selecting it then selecting Heading.

10. Publish your site by clicking the Publish button

11. Type in "firstInitialLastName" whatever the beginning of your email is, site location of your website. Then, copy the entire URL for the next step when you turn it in.
