Set your finder preferences so you can see the server and your hard drive. Also, make it so windows show your home account.

1. Open Photoshop

2. File > New and set the size to 900x150 pixels.

DON'T FORGET THE PIXELS PART!

3. Find an image that you have taken, not something off the internet, and drag it into Photoshop. You can always change it later if you don't like it. Or, make your background image a solid color. Nothing wrong with that. Edit > Fill to choose a color to fill your background with.

4. Drag the layer with your image into the banner image and resize with Command-T. Use the Shift key to resize proportionally and press Return when you are done resizing.

5. Select the text tool

and draw a box big enough for the text on your banner. Type: Firstname's Website or something very close to that. You can say what you want but keep it smart, short, and appropriate.

6. Select the font you want, the color of the text, and the size. Your text will disappear if you make it larger than the box. If you clicked away, just double-click the text layer to edit the text again.

7. Incorporate the SLAM logo into your banner. Go to the server Go > Connect to Server and go to Class Folders/SLAM Logos and find one you like. You will need to open it in Photoshop and drag it into your banner. Use Command-T to resize it.

7. Save As farleya83_banner_001.psd and then again as a .jpg. You need the .psd to make future changes and the .jpg to post on your website. SAVE INTO YOUR PHOTOSHOP FOLDER!!! MAKE ONE IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY ALREADY!!!

If you got this far today, you're doing fine. You can finish your banner next time and put it on your website. But here is how to do it for you speed demons:
