The 2nd annual SLED Shorties film competition has just been announced! The date for the show is March 11th. (March 11 is also Mr. Farley's Birthday)
Submissions must have been finished between Jan 11, 2016 and Feb 11 2017.

Here are the categories:
Time: 30 seconds
Description: Submissions into the Public Service Announcement category are put with the task of promoting good behaviors in today’s society. To qualify into the PSA category, the submission must promote morally good behavior. PSA formats vary but each submission has an underlying moral lesson.
Seniors and Sophomores, this will be your next project!
Time: 4 minutes maximum
Description: For this category, filmmakers must tell their story using a single take for the entire film. No cuts are allowed throughout the video, except when credits roll. Videos submitted that do not follow the "single take" guidelines will be disqualified from the category.
Time: 4 minutes maximum
Description: Submissions into the Animation/Stop-Motion category include any computer-animated, illustrated, or stop-motion videos. To be qualified as an animation or stop-motion video, the animation or stop-motion must be apparent and make-up at least 50% of the submission.
Time: 7 minutes maximum
Description: Submissions into the Mini Documentary category emphasize story and writing. These short-form documentaries are meant to tell a story about the world we live in. Mini Documentary submissions may be in the form of a profile, biographical short, a news report, or other. All video warrants good audio and video and documentaries will also need an interesting story to tell.
Time: 4 minutes maximum
Description: The Narrative Film is a film that tells a fictionalized story or event. In this style of film, believable narratives and characters help convince the audience that the unfolding fiction is real. Lighting and camera movement, among other cinematic elements, can be used creatively to help tell the story. Detail is the key to narratives. Actors must deliver dialogue and action in a believable way, so as to persuade the audience that the film is real life.
