06 Wave Part1 (Looping Symbols)_

  • Go into your hard drive and open the highest version of first

    • File Save as Name it Wave and make it version 001

    • Go to your library and double click on the version of you character that you like best

    • Extend your drawing to below the elbow

    • Use your fill tools and eraser

    • If you have weird pointy areas choose the Subsection Tool

    • to select and delete unwanted points

    • Go to your Timeline and create a new layer

    • then lock the old layer

    • In the new layer draw a forearm and hand. (Remember that the thumb should be on the inside for the hand to be facing out)

    • Highlight the fourth frame of both layers by click dragging over both

    • Right click and select insert frame

    • Right click on the third frame of layer 2 and select insert keyframe

    • Your timeline should now look like this

    • Select the Free Transform Tool it might be hidden underneath the Gradient Transform Tool so if you click and hold that tool you can select the Free Transform Tool

    • The whole layer should already be selected so you will just have to move your pivot point (the white dot) to the elbow. If for some reason it is not selected then just click drag the whole arm. Don't worry you will not select any of your bottom image because that layer is still locked.

    • Hover your curser just outside of the top right corner until you see the rotate icon appear and rotate the arm to the right

  • Return to the scene by clicking the scene button in the upper left corner of the stage window

    • If he is not already there drag your character to the scene from the library

    • add fifty frames to your timeline by right clicking on the fiftieth frame and selecting insert frame or click the fiftieth frame and press f5

    • Test your movie Control> Test Movie> Test or much easier press Command Return

    • You little fellow should be waving away

    • Close the test window

    • Save your project by pressing command S
