1. Find the folder called Music Video Files on the server and drag the folder to your desktop.

2. Open Final Cut Pro, create a new Event named Music Video and a New Project in the event called Music Video.

3. Drag a clip to the timeline first! Any clip. This sets the project to be the same size as the clips. Press OK when it asks you if you want to do that. If your clips come in all small, it's because you missed this step. LISTEN NEXT TIME!

4. Find a song that you like and drag it to your timeline.

5. Click the song in the timeline and then listen to it. While you are listening, press the "M" key to the beat of the song to place a marker on the important beats. This will help your editing later.

6. Spend time looking at each clip and find the interesting parts.

7. Create a music video using creative storytelling and editing with the clips. Plenty of your cuts should come on the beats of the song. Very few clips should last for more than a couple seconds and you should rely on your own editing rather than the edits in the clips.

You will not finish editing to the whole song and you shouldn't try to. It's better to edit well to a part of the song than do a boring edit to the whole song.
