The Sophs are learning Photoshop right now and one of their first projects was to create a collage that represents themselves. In their SLAM English class, they wrote an essay about themselves with their collage in mind. They then recorded their essay about themselves in the sound rooms and animated the images of the collage to go along with what they were saying.
This project teaches many skills that will serve them well in their future media creation as it models the process of creating multimedia that is both informative and visual. The students wrote, recorded, created imagery, and animated the imagery. This is just a beginning of our new course in Multimedia for Sophomores being tightly integrated with English and Social Studies and it's a great beginning.
