SLAM Students Shine at Alameda County Fair!

Mateo Mok won Best of Show, Best of Class in Video, and 1st place for his video "Eloise."

SLAM students won and placed in many digital photography categories at the Alameda County Fair.

In the 9th-10th grade:

Kiele Head won Best of Show and Best of Class in the Architectural category for her photo "Place De La Concorde, Paris, France."

Cody Proctor won third place in Architectural for his photo San Francisco.

Jocelyn Salazar won 1st place and Judges favorite in the Candid, Animal or People class for her photo "Still Time."

Kiele Head was 2nd in the Candid, Animal or People class with her photo "Place De La Concorde, Paris, France."

Ella Lowder was also 2nd in the Candid, Animal or People class with her photo "Boat Under A Bridge, People."

Marco Guilbert dominated the Nature Study & Landscape class with five photos.

His photo "Orange Peels" won 1st place, UCSC Slugs and "Four Leaf Clover" both won 2nd place, and "Crispy Fire" and "Fungi Surprise" both won 3rd place honors.

Cody Proctor's photo "Sunrise" won 2nd and "Bumble Bee" third.

In the Portrait class, Elizabeth Waters-Leiga won 2nd place for her photo "This Is A Picture Of My Great Friend Lauren From Our Trip To Cabo." Great name Liz...

Naomi Churchill was honored with 3rd in the Portrait class for her photo "People Portrait." We're clearly going to have to work on naming of photos next year...

In the Scenes Class, Kiele Head won 2nd place for her photo "Church In Iceland" and Yahkirah Nunn won 3rd for "Photo Assignment For My Class."

In the Still Life class, Siobhan Moher won 1st place for her "Thanksgiving Table Setting" and "Jalapeños And A Bell Pepper" photo.

Cynthia Tang was also honored with 1st place for her "Still Life" photo.

For 11th and 12th graders:

Hanny Quach won 2nd place in the Action class for her photo "Light" and Skyler Linn also won 2nd in the Action class for his photo "Light Painting."

In the Architectural class Hanny Quach won 2nd for her photo "Symbol of Safety."

Richard Tumaneng won 1st and 2nd in the Candid, Animal or People class for his photos "A Strange Alley" and "Look Down."

Hanny Quach won 2nd place in Candid, Animal or People class for her photo "Vita"

Mateo Mok won 2nd place in Candid, Animal or People class for his photo "Aunts In The Kitchen."

Jasmin True won 2nd place in Candid, Animal or People class for her photo "My Sister Smiling At Her Boyfriend's Text."

Rebecca Hawkey won 2nd place in Candid, Animal or People class for her photo "Back Half Of Shark."

in the Nature Study & Landscape class, Richard Tumaneng got two second place honors for his photos "Long Way To Go" and "On The Edge."

Mateo Mok got 2nd in Nature Study & Landscape for Mt. Tam.

Jasmin True won two 2nd place awards and one 3rd place for "Lichen On A Smooth Tree," "Sturdy Grass Growing From A Rock," and "Grass Soaking In Morning Dew."

Rafael Alvarado Jr won two 2nd place awards for his photos "Stream Flow" and "Follow The Planet."

Hanny Quach won 2nd place for her photo "Medusoza."

Carlos Rivadeneyra won 3rd place for "A White Fluffy Dog With Backlight."

Jasmin True won 2nd place for "A Black And White Dog Smiling For The Camera."

Rafael Alvarado Jr won 1st place in the Portrait, People class for his photo "Jours Heureux."

Richard Tumaneng won 1st place in the Portrait, People class for his photo "Eyes On Her." He also won two 2nd place awards for "Une Curieuse Silhouette / A Curious Silhouette" and "Beautiful Regret."

Rebecca Hawkey won two 2nd place awards for "Girl With Wind Blown Hair" and "Girl Trying."

In the Scenes class, Richard Tumaneng won 2nd place for "Sunrise Canvas" and Mateo Mok won 2nd place for "Grace."

In the Still Life class, Imani Beck won 1st place for her photo "Flowers" and Richard Tumaneng won 2nd place for "Magic Of Joy And Happiness."

In the Special Effects/Composite class, Richard Tumaneng won Best of Class for his photo "Unreal Sunrise" he also won 1st place for "Do Not Enter." He also won 2nd place for "Water Colors And Light Streaks" and "End Of A Summer Dream."

In the Fair Themed Photo Category Gordon Stanley won 2nd place for his photo "Summer Times."

in Narrative Photography Richard Tumaneng won two 2nd place awards and two 3rd place awards for "Tracks To Light And Their Destination," "A Stop In The Dark," "The Contrast In Lives," and "Ordinary Man."

Rebecca Hawkey won 1st place in the Color Emphasis class for her photo "Girl Looking" and three 2nd place awards for "Girl Posing." "Girl With Back To Camera," and "Girl Looking."

Jasmin True won 1st place in the Color Emphasis class for her photo "Glass Globe With Colorful Stingray"

Austin Ortiz won 2nd place for "Bracelet Shining In The Dark."

Richard Tumaneng won 2nd place for "Pastel Rainbow."
