67) Clodia

The third and youngest daughter of Claudius nr. 296, she married L. Licinius Lucullus, <40> at some point after her father's death and before Lucullus' Asian military campaign, so around 679 = 75 (Varro r. r. III 16, 2. Plut. Luc. 21, 1. Dio XXXVI 14, 4). After his return from the Mithridatic war, he broke up with her on account of her being unfaithful (Plut. Luc. 38, 1), and even testified in court in the year 693 = 61 that she had been having incestuous relations with her brother Publius (Cic. Mil. 73; har. resp. 42. 59; ad fam. I 9, 15. Plut. Luc. 34, 1. 38, 1; Cic. 29, 2; Caes. 10, 3). <50>
