180) C. Claudius Hortator

The magister equitum in 417 = 337, he resigned with the dictator C. Claudius Inregillensis nr. 183 because of a faulty election (Liv. VIII 15, 5f.). The note is perhaps an invention, since both men are not mentioned elsewhere, and only through this note is the father of Appius Caecus nr. 91 written into the fasti, <60> for whom even his praenomen is unknown.
