C. Claudius Centho 104

vol. III p.2694

104) C. Claudius Centho

According to Fasti Cap. Ap. f. C. n. and according to Cic. Brut. 72; Tusc. I 3. Gell. XVII 21, 42 the son of Appius Caecus nr. 91, which matches up. The significant time gap casts doubt on whether these accounts are correct or not, just as with P. Claudius Pulcher nr. 304. <60> Claudius was consul 514 = 240 (Fasti Cap. Chronogr. Idat. Chron. pasch. Cassiod. Gell. loc. cit. Cic. Brut. 72; Tusc. I 3; Cato 50), censor 529 = 225 (Fasti Cap.), interrex 537 = 217 (Liv. XXII 34, 1) and dictator to lead the elections in 541 = 213 (Liv. XXV 2, 3-5).
