P. Asicius

vol. II p.1579

P. Asicius was charged for taking part in the murder of the Alexandrian envoy Dio, <20> who was sent to Rome by the Egyptians, and was killed there by the fugitive king Ptolemaios (Auletes). Asicius was defended by Cicero, and acquitted, Cic. p. Cael. 23. 24. Perhaps (Licinii) Calvi in Asicium (oratio), mentioned in Tac. dial. 21., refers to this charge.
