Abacti magistratus

According to Festus ep. p. 23, this was a list of the names of certain magistrates who had been forced to resign from their office, before the introduction of the legal end-date (see Abdicatio 2). A lex Sempronia de abactis was introduced by Ti. Sempronius Gracchus, though he withdrew it again; cf. Lange Röm. Altert. II3 655. 687. III2 31.
