The County of Lolland-Falster has for long been held by the King of Denmark, due to its close geographical position to the Royal castle of the Kingdom, Roskilde. The county was owned by a son of Ragnar, Sigurd Snake-in-the-eye, and it was passed down his lineage all the way. Other notable owners of the county are Knut the Great and Harthacnut, the North Sea Emperors. Then, the brother of the Danish King, Count Åsbjörn of Lolland-Falster, inherited the county, but after claiming the Kingdom for himself in 1065, he was forced to flee from his role. After that, King Svend II Estridsen appointed his loyal courtier "Leader" Svend Mikill as Count of Lolland-Falster. Known for his great rebellion against King Anundr of Sweden, his name is fabled. With a extra pinch of loyalty towards his liege, he will become a great, great Count and vassal.
