House Wettin  

Modern History of the Saxon people begins at the burning of the Irminsul, the holiest of sites for pagan Saxons.  The city of Wettin was reached by Christian forces after the Massacre of Verdun, the sole surviving heir to the house bent his knee and accepted baptism. In 783 Pope Leo the Third demanded for there to be a Christian king to rule the Christian people. The Kaiser then brought forward Gunther Wettin, but refused to place a kings crown over his head. A Dutchy, a March would be instituted to protect Christianities' Northern flank.  Two hundred some years of warfare to fight raiders, rebels, and mountain communities who fail to worship the right Christ, has hardened House Witten and its feudal allies. House Wettin draws its banner from its service to Christ, Three loyal hounds to follow the three parts of Christ.
