Seljuk Dynasty

Seljuks originated from the Kinik branch of the Oghuz tribes, who centuries ago lived a nomadic, heathen lifestyle in what are now lands of Khan Saru of Cumania. When Seljuk, the leader of his tribesmen clan, had a falling out with the supreme chieftain of the Oghuz, he split his clan off from the bulk of the Oghuz people and migrated across the deserts to settle along the left bank of lower Syr Darya. There, he accepted the teachings of the Final Prophet, and his family followed. 

After several decades of recovery from this journey, Seljuk expanded further, into the Khurasan region, where he and his men clashed against Ghaznavids, defeating them in numerous battles and establishing control over the new region, achieving decisive victory at the Battle of Nasa. Granting his grandsons command over these new lands, Seljuk continued the assault against Ghaznavids, further defeating them in many battles, and, as he and later his sons took over much of Persia and surrounding lands, the great Seljuk Empire was established, in honour of the man who led all of us here, and with it - the Seljuk dynasty.

• Led by the armies of Alp Arslan, dynasty head, armies of Seljuk Emperor have moved into Byzantine Armenia, and seized it for their Liege. These lands were left to be mostly self-governed

• In the meantime, his son Arslan Shah schemed to seize the Empire for himself. Starting in the Atabegate of Merv, through a series of assasinations, he has grown to the position of Sultan of Khorasan

• Multiple succession crises followed, causing a destabilization of the Seljuk realms, especially the Empire at large. This resulted in decentralization, wars of indepence, and eventual dissolution of, at that point, only titular Empire.

• Many independent Atabegates have arisen, all still led by Sons of Seljuk, strongest one led by Sultan of Persia. He has engineered the dynasty to be the most fair one.

• Ancestors of Arslan Shah have come to rule the Sultanates of Khorasan, Persia and Kabulistan, as well as parts of Daylam, Makran and Transoxiana. 

• Yet another succession crisis splintered the realm, as both the father and his favoured son died within a few months of each other, leading to a child Sultan.
