Our proud nation lies in The Borders, a region east of the Dameshead, and west of Dostanor.  Like many of our neighbors,  our nation was founded by Rosilardi settlers, and our royal family is of Rosilardi blood. That is where our similarities with our neighbors end, sadly. These misguided simpletons have taken to calling themselves "Arannese", adopting the culture and traditions forced on them by the brutish Wexonard settlers. We never forget where we came from, though.  We should work to establish strong ties with the other Rosilardi dynasties that remain loyal to our mother culture, and then cement the dominance of Rosilardi culture in The Borders!  

While"The Game of Kings", otherwise known as chess, didn't originate in Toarnen... the greatest chess masters in Cannor live in Aicestir. Our nation has been at the center of the evolution of the game for centuries, and virtually every prominent text on chess theory was written here. Chess is more than just a game here. Every heir to Toarnen's throne is taught chess theory, as it is believed that skill at the game will make them skilled at diplomacy and warfare. Once we stabilize our diplomatic situation within the Borders, we should look to spread The Game of Kings to the uncultured masses of Cannor, and reap the prestige and gold that will inevitably come from doing so!
