House Mikill, faged through Leader Svend's great rebellion, has now received a County by King Svend II Estridsen.
The adventures of Leader Svend started when he was a young man. Svend, who had grown a reputation in his small community for his strong sense of justice, never backed down from a fight against a tyrant.
In 1046, when Svend was 23, he inherited his passed father's farm. By working hard on his new farm, Svend grew his own philosophy on how to live life. Never back down from a fight, always resist the evil, and take care of and educate what grows, because it will save your life in ill times.
On a peaceful morning in August, Svend woke up to check on his wheat. Once there, he was horrified to see that all of his crops had been harvested. A loud scream, the now 27-year-old let out. He went to call on his most loyal friends. When he entered his friend Erik's longhouse, they all sat around a fire, because they had their warm clothes stolen.
'The King.' Lagertha, the Aunt of Erik said in a sad manner. 'It was King Anundr. The King came and stole all value from us. He only lets your personal belongings be kept because he respects you. Svend, tales of you are spoken in every part of this village. You need to lead us, Svend, you are the only man that can lead this resistance.
And so, Svend collected everybody in the village, even the youngest, because remember, take care of and educate what grows, because it will save your life in ill times. On the way, Svend's army travelled through other villages that had experienced the same deeds from King Amundr. Svend successfully rallied everyone he could find. Now they were marching on Strengnes.
Finally, on a warm summer day in June 1050, the rebellion arrived. They quickly put down the garrison and stormed the Royal Court. When they arrived a bloody battle was fought between the two sides, but eventually the rebellion succeeded.
Then the moment of truth came. Svend had King Amundr at his mercy, with his axe facing towards his throat.
"Surrender, or suffer." NONE! The mad king said.
And so, Leader Svend sent him down to hell. With a fair reason, no one saw Svend as a tyrant, but rather the opposite.
600 Kilometres down south, the recently crowned King Svend II Estridsen heard of this brave man rebelling against his overlords. He thought that if he could be loyal to his liege, he would be a great vassal to have. So King Svend invited "Leader" Svend down to his court in Roskilde.
Surprisingly, the two got along very well. After many feasts and celebrations, some in honour of "Leader" Svend, King Svend finally honored "Leader" Svend with his own title. "Leader" Svend would become Count Svend of Lolland-Falster, after a mutiny by the previous Munsö count residing in its castle.
Now Count Svend faces the challenges of establishing his own house. Svend never married in his village, and he did not find anyone fitting in King Svend's court. His number one priority will be to find a spouse and have children before time runs out, since after all he is 43.
