Description
House Targaryen was one of the most powerful and influential houses in Westeros at the start of Robert's Rebellion. Their sigil was a three-headed dragon, representing the three siblings who united the Seven Kingdoms during the Targaryen Conquest three centuries earlier.
At the time of the rebellion, the Targaryen dynasty was led by King Aerys II Targaryen, also known as the Mad King. Aerys was widely considered to be unstable and cruel, and his reign was marked by a series of increasingly erratic and violent actions.
The Targaryen family was characterized by their distinctive silver-blond hair, which was often seen as a sign of their otherworldly beauty and power. They were known for their close relationships with dragons, which they had used to conquer and rule Westeros for centuries.
In addition to the king, the members of House Targaryen at the start of the rebellion included Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, Aerys's eldest son and heir, as well as Rhaegar's younger siblings Viserys and Daenerys.
Overall, House Targaryen was a powerful and influential force in Westeros, but their rule had become increasingly unpopular due to Aerys's madness and cruelty. This ultimately led to the rebellion that would bring an end to their dynasty and usher in a new era of power struggles and conflict throughout the Seven Kingdoms.

Recent History
House Targaryen has a long and complex history in Westeros, dating back to their arrival on the continent over 300 years before the events of Robert's Rebellion.
The Targaryens were originally from the Valyrian Freehold, a powerful empire that controlled much of the known world before its destruction in the Doom of Valyria. Aegon Targaryen, along with his two sisters Visenya and Rhaenys, fled Valyria with their dragons and came to Westeros, where they conquered and united the Seven Kingdoms into a single realm.
The Targaryens ruled Westeros for over 300 years, with each new king or queen being crowned atop the Iron Throne, a seat made of swords forged from the swords of defeated enemies. During their rule, the Targaryens continued to rely on their dragons as a symbol of their power and used them to quell rebellions and disputes among the great houses.
However, after a series of unfortunate events, the Targaryens lost their last dragon and their power began to wane. They continued to rule Westeros for several more generations, but their power became increasingly tenuous as the great houses grew more powerful and the Targaryen dynasty faced its own internal struggles.
