Ireland
Introduction
This article is a bit unique since it does not cover one nation, but rather the island of Ireland as a whole. Ireland in 1444 is in transformation. After nearly 300 years of established English rule, the Authority from the Red Nation across the Irish Sea had all but disappeared. The Normans became the minority, and a new Irish culture and language were revitalized.
The English although still has a foothold on the Green Island. The Pale is an oblong stretch that has Dublin as its headquarters. The map to the right here is a representation of how Ireland was culturally mapped. The Pale in Grey, Anglo Irish (Desmond, Kildare, Ormond, and Ulster) in Purple, and the rest of the Irish minors, held by native Ires, in Green.
Situation
Depending on if you are a Native Irish or an Anglo Irish, your stance on English presence will differ. The Native Irish will in most cases despise the English due to the Statutes of Kilkenny (link to an explanation below), whilst the Anglo-Irish might have a bit lighter stance on them, but they would still not want the English to rule over them.
Most Irish minors will also have a sympathy for Scotland, due to their shared roots. If the English expand into Ireland or Scotland, you would be organizing, or trying to counter them.
Advice from previous Ireland players:
Souzzzzie - Desmond EU4 Season 4:
As an Irish minor, you will have a hard time establishing yourself on the European stage. You will always be active with the England player, for good or bad. Not being taken seriously by England can be very frustrating, but it is important to keep your head up. Me and Gork (England player EU4 Season 4) often had long negotiations and disagreements, most often in RP. Ireland is a fun and interesting island to play on and I definitely recommend it.
