The Ruriked house can find it roots date back to era of Varangians era of vikings.  Varangian prince Rurik, who, according to tradition, established himself in Novgorod around the year AD 862. After the conquest of Kiev by Rurik's successor Oleg the Wise in c. 880, the Rurikids established a dynasty over the state of Kievan Rus'. Though deeply dived by family infighting. Has seen now that Kievan Rus is made of by the Rurikds who infight has become common place for the Ruriks. Though North east was easy tamed by Varangians. It was forced by them to convert to the faith of the romans by a number of princes who would spread the faith of Orthodoxy

Follow this it was that our Great Grandfather Vladimir the Great would try to centralize the Rus though his efforts would not pay out though the Kievan Rus would expand under his rule blood of Varangian prince Rurik and as well House Macedon know for Basil II or nicked named the Bulgar Slayer would see his blood line linked by political union with Vladimir house. Before his death his gifts was to centralise Princedom of Novgorod to be split from Kievan Rus.
