Description
Asia is at a crossroad in 2000 with their recent economic crisis having made their rapid growth perhaps untenable. This region acts as a global investment hub as the massive labor force and low standards of living and prosperity make the region optimal for manufacturing growth and outsourcing. The rise of China and the potential of India to become a great power makes their future as fascinating as it is uncertain. Japan too seeks to regain its former economic power as it struggles under its massive debt and interest rate problems. The growing interest in the west economically and politically make it a potential battle ground as old and new powers alike seek to develop their influence in the region. Will Asia build itself up and remain sovereign or will its members simply enter into the existing spheres of western powers? You will decide.
Goal
Establish a long term export relationships with one of the world's major western consumer markets
Negotiate an economic partnership with the US through exports and geopolitical support
Become a partner with India, Japan, or China and help them develop as a major economic power riding the coattails
Establish yourself as a rival economic power through either dominating western exports or develop enough to have a market for consumerism domestically through rapid development
Develop a system for Asian dominance in Economic, Military affairs in the region
Attempt to push out the US and or West from Asian markets and dominate it yourself
Establish an expanded SCO with broad powers and centralized support for Asian policy or create and expand an entirely new organization all together
