The Crown of Aragon
Aragon begins the game as the 8th great power. They have serious punching power and historically beat both France and the Empire alone on several recent occasions. Aragon's historical situation is an ambitious and active role. They put their influence upon others and their agenda is to expand and gain more power at all cost. They did not grow from a small Iberian kingdom to holding 5 powerful kingdoms, without being ruthless and ambitious.
Lots of Aragon's history around their control of Naples can be read on the Naples page.
The small country of Aragon became independent in 1035 as a small Frankish marcher country in the Pyrenean valley. It has in 400 years grown from a small insignificant country named after a small river valley to one of Christianity's most powerful nations with several kingdoms under its throne. The primary situs requirement for Aragon is to continue down this ambitious path and be active in both expanding and diplomatically influencing the world around you. It is disencourage to simply play tall and isolate yourself.
Try and subjugate the other kingdoms if the chance is given, do not put your own stability at risk, but if the chance for putting another Iberian kingdom in a union occurs, it should be the highest priority.
It is expected that you take the fight to unite Iberia. It might not be worth it to go fully against Castile to subjugate Navarra, but unless you are already in a war or a disaster, then it is expected. You should also expect both Castile and Portugal to try and subjugate you if they get the chance.
You have waged many wars against the Kingdom of France and its cadet dynasties in Naples and Sicily over the last centuries. While France might not be an official rival, they are certainly not someone you trust. It is discouraged to ally with France unless better relations have been roleplayed.
Several popes have shown sides in The Italian Wars and have not been holding back on putting their agenda towards the wars and conflicts around were you have been busy expanding in Sardinia, Sicily and Naples. You can use this former conflict to have a general mistrust towards the Papal States and judge your friendliness with them upon the individual pope. It is difficult to define this situs path, but it is more a of a guiding statement that the Crown of Aragon is not a bootlicking ‘The Papal States can do whatever they want’-kind of nation, that we might see in Castile, The Knights, Kingdom of Jerusalem or Jacobite Scotland/England.
