As High as Honor
Description
House Arryn was one of the oldest and most respected houses in Westeros at the start of Robert's Rebellion.
At the time of the rebellion, House Arryn was led by Lord Jon Arryn, who served as Hand of the King to King Aerys II Targaryen. Jon was widely respected for his wisdom, diplomacy, and military prowess, and was seen as a stabilizing force in the realm.
The Arryns were known for their strong ties to the Vale of Arryn, a mountainous region in the eastern part of Westeros. The Vale was protected by the impregnable fortress known as the Eyrie, which was perched atop a sheer mountain peak and served as the seat of House Arryn.
In addition to Lord Jon, the members of House Arryn at the start of the rebellion included his wife Lysa Tully and his nephew and heir, Robin Arryn. Lysa was the younger sister of Lady Catelyn Stark, while Robin was a sickly child who was being fostered at the Eyrie under Jon's care.
Overall, House Arryn was a powerful and respected house, with deep roots in the history of Westeros. Their loyalty to the Targaryen dynasty was seen as crucial in maintaining stability and order in the realm, but as the rebellion grew more intense, Jon Arryn was faced with difficult choices and ultimately chose to side with the rebels, setting in motion a chain of events that would change the fate of Westeros forever.

Recent History
House Arryn has a long and storied history in Westeros, dating back to the time of the Andals, who invaded Westeros from Essos thousands of years before the events of Robert's Rebellion.
The Arryns trace their ancestry back to the legendary figure of Ser Artys Arryn, also known as "the Falcon Knight", who was one of the earliest Andal conquerors of the Vale of Arryn. Ser Artys is said to have flown into battle on the back of a giant falcon, which became the sigil of House Arryn.
Over the centuries, the Arryns established themselves as one of the great houses of Westeros, with a reputation for honor, courage, and military prowess. They were known for their close ties to the Vale of Arryn, which was a difficult region to conquer due to its mountainous terrain and the fierce loyalty of its people.
During the Targaryen dynasty, House Arryn remained fiercely independent and largely avoided the conflicts and intrigues that plagued other great houses. They maintained their own customs and traditions, including the practice of taking a new name for each generation, such as Jon Arryn, Lysa Tully, and Robin Arryn.
However, as the realm grew more unstable under the reign of King Aerys II Targaryen, House Arryn was forced to navigate treacherous political waters. Jon Arryn was appointed Hand of the King by Aerys, but his relationship with the king became strained as Aerys became more paranoid and irrational. Ultimately, Jon chose to side with the rebels in Robert's Rebellion, playing a key role in the downfall of the Targaryen dynasty and the establishment of a new era in Westeros history.
