GUIDING LIGHT ●Cost: NoneDice Pool: None

Type: Persistent

In the dark nights of the world, the Moon guides and cares for others, illuminating the world like a faded sun. The moon in the sky can hold a Scion with this Boon just as gently, keeping their mind safeguarded, and their body unchanged by outside powers. Once per Scene, when someone attempts to physically, or emotionally change the Scion, they may chose to gain +6 Automatic Successes to resist it.

LOOKING GLASS ●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: None

Type: Persistent

The moon is the grand mirror of all reality, sometimes honest, sometimes twisted like a carnival mirror. A Scion with this Boon may emulate this, able to sense damage any other being may have suffered to their mind as easily as if it were a missing limb. A Scion with this Boon can make psychological evaluations of any other being with a glance, not needing to converse, or spend months working through the mind, able to make a simple Intelligence + Empathy roll.

Additionally, with this Boon, a Scion can gain a deeper understanding of the minds of others as they can see their flaws as plain as day. Once per game, they may gain +6 successes on any Empathy roll.

Moon Two

WHISPERING MADNESS ●●

Cost: 2 Legend

Dice Pool: Moon + Occult

Type: Miscellaneous

The Moon, as it is a light in the darkness, too has wrought great madness upon humanity. A Scion who has this Boon may use this creeping madness the moon can inspire as a weapon, leaving whispers haunting the mind of their target if they can overcome the target’s MDV with the Activation Roll of this Boon.

A being who has been affected by this Boon is whispered to by their own mind, telling them all their doubts, preventing all form of Willpower regeneration for one day per Moon Rank.

WITNESS TO DARK DEEDS ●●

Cost: 1 Willpower

Dice Pool: Moon + Investigation

Type: Miscellaneous

The night is a common time for great treacheries, and simple illegal deeds. The darkness a blanket concealing those who would perform misdeeds, witnessed by none save the Moon, as the Stars are uncaring. A Scion with this Boon may use it on a target, and if it overcomes a reflexive Manipulation + Empathy resistance, they may instantly learn the most abhorrent deed they have committed in the eyes of the user’s Pantheon.

Of course, this deed may seem entirely pointless to the user in some cases, such as an Netjer Scion using this Boon and being informed of the rampant homosexuality the target is plagued with, something which a modern Scion would hopefully not care about.

WAX AND WANE ●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: None

Type: Persistent

Moon Three

LUNATIC ●●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: None

Type: Persistent

The Gods and Goddesses, Heroes and Demigods, all tend to be plagued by madness more than humanity. Bouts of mad rage, among other such things. A Scion with this Boon can embrace the madness that often touches the Divine, regenerating their entire Willpower pool when either another being in their presence, or they themselves, fall to a Virtue Extremity, the specific chosen at the time the Boon is purchased.

This Boon may be taken twice if a Scion wishes to have both effects.

GIBBERING MOON ●●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: None

Type: Persistent

The Moon above holds many secrets, witness to all night, and the minds of lunatics. With this Boon, a Scion may harness these in a minor way, hearing the whispers of the moon, or the mad, and sometimes even their own lunacy riddled minds. Mechanically, at the end of every Session, the Storyteller must tell a player with this Boon two plausible lies, and one true piece of information about their current situation.

MOONTOUCHED ●●●

Cost: 1 Legend

Dice Pool: None

Type: Miscellaneous

With a touch, a glance, or a whisper, a Hero with this Boon may instantly break the mind of a mortal. Any chosen psychological disorder, or the raving lunacy of mythology may be inflicted on their mortal target. Whenever a Scion does this, they may gain one point of Willpower as they revel in the madness they bring.

Moon Four

MOONLIGHT ●●●●

Cost: 3 Legend

Dice Pool: None

Type: Miscellaneous

The light of the moon, the lone presence in the night, giving thieves the light to see locks, and sleeping hounds. With this Boon, the Scion can become that moon the moon of hidden light, by glowing softly to illuminate the area around themselves for their allies, but never drawing any attention due to the light.

FULL MOON ●●●●

Cost: 1 Legend

Dice Pool: None

Type: Miscellaneous

The Full Moon, thief’s bane, and wolf’s love, leaving the night bright under its shining visage. With this Boon, the Scion may levy the blessing of the full moon upon others, holding their minds and bodies safe from the ravages of magic. Any being who has Full Moon used on them gains access to Guiding Light (Moon 1) for the Scene.

WITNESS TO LOVE AND LOSS ●●●●

Cost: 2 Legend

Dice Pool: Moon + Investigation

Type: Miscellaneous

Just as the Moon is witness to great depravities, it is too witness to lovers sneaking out in the light of the Moon, and witness to great sorrow, often the only witness to some of humanity’s greatest losses. With this Boon, the Scion may gain this knowledge, instantly becoming aware of anyone in the Scene who is in love (not in lust), and gains immediate knowledge of who they are in love with if they are also in the same room.

Additionally, a Scion with this Boon can use it to learn of the target’s greatest loss if they can overcome a reflexive Manipulation + Empathy roll against the activation.

Moon Five

NEW MOON ●●●●●

Cost: 5 Legend and 1 Willpower

Dice Pool: Moon + Stealth or Occult

Type: Miscellaneous

As the Full Moon is bright and brilliant, the New Moon is hidden, and endarkened. It is through the power of this, the New Moon and its hidden shape that a Moon Scion may hide information. They may hide a single piece of information from any nosy Mystery users, hiding the information from any who gain less Successes on their Mystery Roll than the user of this Boon gains on their activation roll. This Boon additionally hides the information from mundane methods, anyone attempting to uncover the secret through investigative means or other mundane ways must overcome the activation role of this Boon plus the user’s Moon Rank.

MADHOUSE ●●●●●

Cost: 3 Legend

Dice Pool: None

Type: Miscellaneous

A Scion with this Boon may endow the powers of the moon in a building, or an object, giving a focal point for the Moon’s lunacy to seep into the waking world. Every mortal who is inside the threshold of a ‘blessed’ building, or interacts with the ‘blessed’ object (looking at a painting, drinking from a cup, ect) is immediately driven mad somehow. Any Legendary Being instead gains +1 Success to all Virtue rolls as the moon’s madness fuels their passions to the point of madness.

Moon Six

PHASE CLOAK ●●●●● ●

Cost: 3 Legend and 1 Willpower

Dice Pool: Moon + Stealth

Type: Miscellaneous

Just as the New Moon can hide information, a Demigod can too use it to turn away from the world themselves, vanishing entirely. A Scion who uses this Boon immediately vanishes, hidden from the sight of all those who can’t overcome the activation roll with a Perception + Awareness or Investigation roll. While under this effect, the Scion is entirely unable to interact with the world in any way, unable to communicate, use Boons, or Knacks, or even touch anything, rendered incorporeal.

This Boon lasts for one Scene, only ending at that point, the Scion unable to dismiss its effects willingly.

LYCANTHROPY ●●●●● ●

Cost: 5 Legend and 1 Willpower

Dice Pool: None

Type: Miscellaneous

Hulking creatures looking like a twisted combination of beast and man would normally be safe to assume to be the work of dangerous Deities of the Wilderness and Beasts, though the Moon Deities of the world can wield a similar power, though with a different meaning.

A Moon Demigod with this Boon may inflict bestial madness on a Mortal of their choice, immediately giving the Mortal Legend Dots equal to half the user’s, and a smattering of Epic Attributes and Animal Boons up to two Ranks or Dots below the new Legendary Being’s new Legend rating (meaning that a Legend 7 Scion who uses this Boon can create a Legend 4 Legendary Being who has Rank 2 Animal, and relevant Epic Attributes at 2 Dots). This being from that point on will appear entirely normal, except during a specific phase of the moon, when they will be struck low with some form of madness, and become a half-beast monstrosity.

Moon Seven

REGENT OF NIGHT ●●●●● ●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: None

Type: Reflexive

At the cusp of their Apotheosis, a Scion with this Boon can wield the great power of the distant silver disk with power beyond mortal comprehension. This new height allows the Scion to twist and apply their previously developed powers in new ways.

Guiding Light: May also be used to either physically or metaphorically prevent yourself from losing your way.

Witness to Dark Deeds: Now one use of the Boon will affect every being in the Scene.

Gibbering Moon: Now the Storyteller can tell you two true pieces of information, and one lie, but they may use the previous version as well, giving the possibility for more knowledge, but making the entire situation more uncertain as the player will not know which the Storyteller is using.

Witness to Love and Loss: If two beings in the Scene are in love with each other, they instantly lose 5 MDV if the other attempts to influence them.

GIBBOUS MOON ●●●●● ●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: Moon + Empathy

Type: Reflexive

The madness of the moon radiates from a Demigod of this height of power like light from the sun. They may activate this Boon to cripple other Legendary Beings in the Scene, madness radiating from the Scion’s soul. Every being whose MDV is lower than the activation roll instantly must roll every single one of their Virtues. If someone doesn’t fall to Virtue Extremity to this, they then must role all of their Virtues again every time they spend a point of Willpower for the remainder of the Scene.

Moon Eight

LUNAR CROWN ●●●●● ●●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: None

Type: Reflexive

The Sun and the Moon, often siblings, are in an eternal dance around the planet. The Moon, the lonelier of the two celestial spheres, may chose a Sun, a being, or an object depending on the Scion’s Pantheon, and gains a bonus to their Moon Boons based on the distance from their chosen Sun.

If the Moon or Sun are in different planes (such as Earth, an Overworld, or an Underworld) they gain five Automatic Successes to every Moon Boon. If the Moon and Sun are in different regions of the same plane (such as one being at the gates of Hades and the other being in Tartarus) they gain +3 Autosuccesses to Moon Boons. If the Sun and the Moon are in the same region, but in different Scenes, the Scion gains +1 Autosuccess to Moon Boons.

LUNAR CHARIOT ●●●●● ●●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: None

Type: Reflexive

A silver chariot, a black horse, or a burning torch are all representations of the Moon across the Pantheons. This eternal travel may be emulated by a Deity, summoning forth a vehicle (such as a chariot, a horse, or a car) or a symbol (such as a torch) to represent the Moon. The Scion may use (ride a vehicle, or just carrying the symbol) the created object to move at great speeds through any part of the world that the sun is currently not touching, moving I don’t know what’s fast.

Moon Nine

LUNAR ESTATE ●●●●● ●●●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: None

Type: Reflexive

Living on the moon is not an uncommon image for the Moon Deities of the Pantheons. With this Boon, the Scion may create a home for themselves on the ‘moon’. This is slightly cosmologically complicated as the Moon is sometimes an individual, or many different individuals (in the more complex Pantheons), so the home created is in a small plane of existence attached to the Overworld. This home is quite difficult to get to without the guidance of a Travel Deity, or the Moon Deity who created the home paying five Legend to transport a willing being there (or themselves).

Using this Boon in some Pantheons may make a difficult situation, such as for the Zoroastrians where the moon is an individual Deity, so making a home on the moon may cause some ire.

MOONRISE ●●●● ●●●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: None

Type: Reflexive

For half the day, the Moon is far from the lands of any Pantheon (save for anyone who lives sufficiently close to the poles, of course) not watching over the world, and instead the Sun does.

By using this Boon, the God or Goddess causes the sun to rapidly finish its daily path, taking one hour minus one minute per Success to entirely set (if more than 60 Successes are gathered, the sun just winks out of the sky, appearing on the other side of the in a similar instant) spreading the shadowy embrace of night across the land, with the Scion using this Boon also able to chose which Phase they wish the Moon to be in.

As many Boons affecting the planet on a large scale, this Boon, if used wantonly or in incredibly unfortunate situations, can cause political issues.

Moon Ten

ENDYMION’S CAPTURE ●●●●● ●●●●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: Moon + Occult

Type: Reflexive

The Moon, strangely, seems to have a habit encouraged by Fate for kidnapping people. Whisking beings away to the Moon for eternity. With this Boon, a Deity may too kidnap another being and whisk them away to their home.

If the activation role of this Boon overcomes the target’s Dodge DV the Deity may touch their target, and instantly send them away to either their Sanctum or their Lunar Estate (Moon 9) for whatever reason the Deity has for kidnapping the being.

A being whisked away by a Moon Deity has an exceptionally difficult time actually leaving against the will of their kidnapper, any attempt to leave, even by use of Travel, needs to overcome the role gained to kidnap them originally, or have their attempts utterly fail. Additionally, if they fail, or are successful, the Moon Deity instantly becomes aware of the attempt to escape, and may respond however they wish.

ANNIGAN’S MADNESS ●●●●● ●●●●●

Cost: None

Dice Pool: Moon + Empathy

Type: Reflexive

The Moon drives many mad, sometimes even unintentionally, but always dramatically, and cripplingly. The madness of the moon may be brought to bare by a Deity with this Boon, instantly attacking an entire Scene, or a single target’s MDV with the activation role of this Boon. If any being targeted by this power is unsuccessful in resisting it, they instantly fall into a Virtue Extremity for their highest rated Virtue, potentially causing mass chaos as the Moon Deity drives an entire meeting of Gods and Goddesses mad. What is worse is that the madness does not fade quickly, as the madness of the Divine tends to. Instead, these Extremities last for one week per Moon Boon the Deity possesses, possibly wracking a being for months with a crippling madness.

Author’s Notes: This is really weak in retrospect to War 10, so, I think this should be changed to flat out inflicting permanent, Fatebound Madness as War 10 physically cripples in the same way.
