The great king of the Tuatha de Danann, Nuada is a fair and just King who is loved by his people. For this, when Nuada lost his hand during the invasion of Ireland, their great victory was marked with horrible tragedy, for only one of unblemished and perfect body can be king, and Nuada lost his hand. Though the beloved God could no longer be their king, the two Gods Dian Cecht and Goibhniu, the doctor and the smith respectively, forged him a hand of silver that was as capable as a true hand. Dian Cecht's son Miach managed to teach himself how to have a body regrow its missing parts though, and replaced Nuada's hand with a perfect copy of his lost one. Angered by being outdone by his son, Dian Cecht smote his son three times, eventually hacking through to his brain with a sword, killing him. And then when his daughter Airmed had gathered the herbs to bring the dead back to life to save her brother, scattered them to the winds so none may be better than he.

Nuada returned to being the king of the Tuatha after Lugh overthrew Bres the Beautiful, and lead them against the Fomori invaders. Nuada has ruled with his mark of fair justice, never having even the shadows of a Tyrant, taking his role as the King not as a birthright as many other Pantheon heads, but a duty that he preforms for his people.

Nuada is slain at the Second Battle of Magh Tuiraedh by Balor, along with his wife Macha.
