The God of the Sun, driving the golden chariot of Helios across the sky every day, Apollo looks down on the world with his beautiful radiant face. At night, when his sister rides through the sky, he brings wondrous music, poetry, and oration to his fellow Olympians, ceasing their bickering to listen in rapt fascination with the God's latest composition. The God is additionally both a skilled healer and plaguebringer, bringing plague to the Grecian camp during the Trojan War. Adding to this conglomeration of skills is his role as an Ocular God, the patron of the Oracle of Delphi.
The God exists in somewhat of a strange state physically. Always depicted as young (which can be noted by the lack of a beard) the God appears to have some sort of connection with the introduction of young men into the adult society of a Polis as evidenced by his patronage of young Hermes. What might be the source of this confusing youthfulness is his sister Artemis' pact with their father Zeus. Never can Apollo be above her, and as Artemis was also granted eternal maidenhood, Apollo may be stuck in an eternal youth of his own.
