Enech

The Tuatha live by a code of behavior that others consider crippling. They strive to maintain a reputation as the absolute best and most skilled people in the world, and most Tuatha would rather die than ever break their word. The Tuatha can perform incredible deeds provided that they maintain their Face during times of hardship. When they ignore their Face, they become shunned by their divine family and lose their supernatural powers.

Face is a perpetually-sliding scale that depends on the actions and deeds of the Scion. Tuatha cannot benefit from Enech boons unless their current Face is equal or greater than the rank of the boon. Tuatha have a maximum Face equal to their permanent legend.

Gain Face:

  • Gain 1 Face when following a Geis in the face of adversity.

  • Gain 1 Face when following a Tuatha Virtue in the face of adversity.

  • Gain 1 Face when someone in authority publicly praises you.

Lose Face:

  • Lose ALL Face for the rest of the story when you break your Geis.

  • Lose 2 Face when you spend willpower to resist a Tuatha Virtue.

  • Lose 2 Face when someone in authority publicly insults you.

Once a Tuatha emerges from apotheosis, she is expected to travel to the gates of Tara and challenge the guard there. He will ask who she is and why she wants to gain entrance. She must claim she wishes to join Nuada and live in his court, then explain how she is capable of something nobody else in the Court of Nuada can do better. If he allows her in, she must stand before the High King himself and prove the claim she has just made. Once she has convinced Nuada that she brings a unique service to his Court, she may claim a title that becomes written into her legend. She chooses a single Epic Attribute or Purview to be associated with her new title, and gains a permanent discount of 2 Legend whenever she uses a knack or boon from her choice. Such titles should be appropriate to her new role, and may include things like “The Red Lady”, “The Bloody Hand”, or “Lord of the Crystal Voice”.

If for some reason she does not wish to join the court of Nuada, she could technically travel to the court of Manannan, Clidna, or even Donn to prove herself.
