Njord

Associated Abilities: Awareness, Control, Fortitude, Integrity, Politics, Survival

Associated Powers: Epic Perception, Fertility, Fire, Sky, Water

The Father of Freya and Freyr, Njord was one of the political hostages taken in the aftermath of the war between his family, the Vanir, and the Æsir. He is a God capable of calming the seas, the wind, and even fire. He was married to the giantess Skaldi, and though the two tried to compromise, sometimes living in the mountains, and sometimes in the sea, neither was able to live in the others preferred home, and for that they separated with no great malice.

Njord may have one of the few relatively happy Fates in the events of Ragnarok. Though his son Freyr is doomed to die, after the Æsir fall in battle, Njord is free to return to his sister-wife, and the halls of his fathers. No longer bound to live in Asgard as a hostage of the Æsir.
