God of Shepherds, Pan is the son of Hermes. Unlike most of the Theoi, Pan does not live on Olympus, in Hades, or in the Ocean. Instead, Pan lives in the large mountain glens, playing his enchanting music from these hidden places, and springing out of the undergrowth to panic lonely shepherds. The God is a lusty figure, ever chasing nymphs who nimbly dodge and turn out of his way laughing as they go. Furthermore, somewhat unique among the Theoi, Pan is depicted with animalistic features, both the horns and legs of a goat. While several other members of the Pantheon have the wings of birds or butterfly wings, those features are more embolic of being capable of moving great distances or being omnipresent. Scions who follow in Pan's footsteps of these unseemly anamalistic features will likely find themselves seen with some measure of disgust by the physically perfect Theoi.

An interesting feature of Pan is that in the oldest traditions, Pan is present at the battle with Typhon, even helping Zeus. Archaeologically, Pan appears to be a rather old Deity who was absorbed into the Greek Pantheon as it spread. The question is, however, who is Pan, if he is not the son of Hermes? More importantly, why would the Theoi be lying about his parentage?
