The Aesir are unique among the Gods for the Giantsblood flowing through their veins. Odin and his kindred have it through their dependence from Ymir himself, while Loki, being a true Giant himself, passes it down onto his children below him. All those with Giantsblood, or Jotunblut, flowing through their veins are bigger, stronger, and more hardy than their compatriots, growing alongside their Ichor until they are almost twice the height of other Gods, excluding the few who are inhuman creatures themselves, such as some of the colossal Eastern Dragon Gods.
The Vanir too have the power of Jotunblut, or at least Njord, Freyr, and Freya do. If this is because they are descended from some giants in their mysterious past, or if it is some part of a ritualized hostage taking by the Norse Gods, is unknown. The subject of the captivity of the Vanir being a touchy one on the part of the captive Gods, though if one to try to make contact with however many of the Vanir remain in Vanaheim, maybe they would be able to explain the reason for their Giantsblood, or maybe they have some secret left powers that they have as the independent Vanir held onto.
This Purview has been taken from Gotham by Night with many thanks to John and Anne. It will be updated to better function in this version of Scion at a point in the future.
