The God of the burning sun and stars above, Surya watches over all the world below him, and brings warmth, light, and healing, along with the potential for overabundant heat as some Sun Gods do bring when they travel too close to the world. Surya travels the world on a Solar Chariot, pulled by a seven headed horse through the daytime sky.

Surya was once even more overwhelmingly hot as he is now, and so that his wife could bare to be close to him, sent some of his heat away to the far distant stars, dividing it away from the sun so that she could manage to stay with him.
