While Heracles may be the most well known Scion, Dionysus may be one of the most powerful, having gone through the entire cycle of being a Scion and emerging one of the most powerful Theoi at the end of things, even though he was technically a God the entire time. Dionysus even managed to somehow avoid the spite and vengeance of his step-mother after she initially drove him mad. Dionysus though may not be the greatest role model for Scions, for while he can be jovial and happy, leading joyous parties and celebrations, he has moments of dark madness, chaos radiating from every ounce of him.

Dionysus' mother was tricked by Hera to have Zeus reveal her full radiance to her, destroying her in the process, but Zeus managed to save his unborn son and sewed him into his thigh so he could gestate. When he was eventually removed, and sent off to live with his grandmother, Hera struck him mad, wandering the world not knowing who he was until Rhea could save him and cure him. After, Dionysus still traveled the world, discovering the secrets of wine, and bringing it with him to all corners of the world.

Zagreus

One of the more difficult aspects about representing Dionysus is Zargeus. In one of Dionysus' cults, Dionysus is a reincarnation of Zagreus who was the son of Persephone and Zeus. He was reborn after Hera dismembered the infant God, and became Dionysus after this.

Just how to use this tricky situation is left to individual storytellers. It is, no matter which way chosen to represent Dionysus, a bit of a mess. If one wishes to include this idea of a reincarnated Zargeus, giving Dionysus Death as an Associated power would help represent the role Zargeus plays in the Underworld.
