One of the Titans who has found themselves among the ranks of the Gods after having realized that the First Titanomachy was not going to turn out well, Hecate is one of the most powerful and mysterious of the Theoi. She holds lands on Earth, in the Underworld, and in the heavens as part of her agreement with Zeus, made when she went to him to turncoat. She still serves Zeus as an adviser, and an all powerful ally of him.

Watching over the fragment of the Underworld she owned, she saw that Persephone had been abducted by Hades, returning to Olympus to inform the distressed Demeter of her daughter's location. After the affair died down, Hecate became one of the young Goddess' friends, and stayed with her often in the Underworld.
