I moved the files in the home associated to my account to gompert-group2 home.
mv /uufs/chpc.utah.edu/common/home/u6028866/projects/ ./
rm -r /uufs/chpc.utah.edu/common/home/u6028866/data/
rm -r /uufs/chpc.utah.edu/common/home/u6028866/software/
make symbolic links
ln -s /uufs/chpc.utah.edu/common/home/gompert-group2/data/aspen_gbs/Pando/ Pando
