9v17. We haven't had to mist the plants every day since planting. And, actually, we may have misted too much, as algae (?) is growing on the soil of some of the pots.
Germination started on Sunday (7v17), and we had at least one seedling in a pot for each of:
Rep 1: 5 lines
Rep 2: 40 lines
Rep 3: 2 lines
Rep 4: 0 lines
Rep 5: 1 line
Since germination was so uneven across the lines, and it was Rep 2 that was closest to the east / sunniest window, I shifted the lines west towards the door, such that Rep 2 was now nearest the door and Rep 1 was farthest east.
Rough picture of germination Tues. 9v17:
Rep 1: at least one seedling in 28 lines
Rep 2: 81 lines
Rep 3: 50 lines
Rep 4: 53 lines
Rep 5: 47 lines
Germination on Wed 10v17. I shuffled the replicates toward the west again, and moved flats around within a replicate. I misted and kept the domes off during the day today. Megan misted when she came back in and put the domes back on since we have no heat on campus this week.
Rep 1: at least one seedling in 35 lines
Rep 2: 90 lines
Rep 3: 61 lines
Rep 4: 62 lines
Rep 5: 51 lines
Germination on Thurs. 11v17. I misted the plants. I learned I shouldn't be turning off the little fan in that room because Mari needs it on to circulate air in the room (I was because a few flats are drying out more quickly because of it).
Rep 1: at least 1 seedling in 54 lines
Rep 2: 92 lines
Rep 3: 70 lines
Rep 4: 69 lines
Rep 5: 64 lines
The propagation domes came off for good 19v17.
