English is the study, use, and enjoyment of the English language and its literature, communicated orally, visually, and in writing, for a range of purposes and audiences and in a variety of text forms. Learning English encompasses learning the language, learning through the language, and learning about the language.

The study of English workplace literacy:
enhances lifelong learning and effective communication skills such as reading, writing, speaking, viewing and listening.
allows you to develop skills that empower you to confidently transition into the workplace.
In this course you will learn to be a lifelong learner, who can confidently read and view information for purpose, work with others and effectively communicate in a workplace through written and spoken modes.
Students will engage in a course that teaches core literacy and communication skills shaped around workplace contexts. The course content includes the teaching of: reading skills, report writing skills, team work skills and assertiveness.
Your work will be assessed through internally assessed unit standards.
