In Level 1 Health, the focus is on the well-being of the students themselves, of other people, and of society through learning in health-related contexts.
In this course, you will learn about how actions can enhance hauora (wellbeing), and explore ways to manage and change situations that impact health and wellbeing. You will learn that hauora is more than a matter of personal choice and individual responsibility.
Ākonga (students) will learn foundational knowledge and skills that can lead to diverse future pathways, including becoming a teacher and working or studying in the health, community services, government, hospitality, and science sectors.
Your work will be assessed throughout the year. There will be two internal standards and two external standards offered.
Standard AS92008 - Demonstrate understanding of wellbeing through the application of a model of health (internal)
Standard AS92009 - Demonstrate understanding of a decision-making process in a health-related situation (internal)
Standard AS92011 - Demonstrate understanding of strategies that enhance hauora (external)
