The course is suitable for students who want to study a combination of Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. This generalised course leads to a range of tertiary courses and careers where an understanding of the scientific method and ability to think critically is useful.
In this course you will learn about a range of science ideas and skills, many of them related directly to real-world issues.
The exact nature of your course will depend upon what other subjects you take.
If your only Science is Integrated Science, then you will study four topics as a class (one taken from each of Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and one additional topic (related to your interest).
If you are also studying another Science subject, then your programme will be modified to reflect this. If you take Integrated Science and Biology for example, then you will study three topics with the whole class (taken from Environmental Science, Chemistry and Physics) and two further standards from this group.
Your work will be assessed through five standards taken from Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry and Phyiscs internal achievement standards.
Standard AS91410 - Oil spill experiment (internal)
Standard AS91412 - Geological dating (internal)
Standard AS91604 - How animals maintain a stable internal environment (internal)
Standard AS91607 - Bio-Tech (internal)
Standard AS91389 - Chemical processes in the world around us (internal)
Standard AS91393 - Oxidation-reduction processes (internal)
Standard AS91521 - Testing a physics theory relating two variables in a non-linear relationship (internal)
Standard AS91522 - How a power supply works (internal)
