This course is designed for those wishing for further study in Physical Education. This course will involve a variety of sporting and physical activity contexts to allow students to learn in, through and about movement.
In this course students will apply the concepts learned in Year 12PE in more depth. Students will analyse a skill performance and evaluate how biophysical skills affect performance. Students will evaluate how physical activity affects lifelong wellbeing and apply this to their own experiences. Students will also examine physical activity events and uncover how they have impacted New Zealand.
Students will learn through movement and be expected to be active participants in the practical lessons, as well as theory lessons. Students will create a training program in order to prepare for competing in the Annual PC Year 13 Triathlon and then evaluate its effectiveness as a training program.
