If you have an interest in health issues, both in New Zealand and internationally, this may catch your attention. The reports presented are backed by evidence-based research and focus on the broader socio-ecological context.
In this course, you will have the chance to enhance your knowledge of current health concerns in New Zealand and globally. You will develop critical thinking skills, learn how to analyze data, make recommendations for future actions, and gain an understanding of both national and international health issues.
Ākonga (students) will investigate major trends and developments in health and develop critical thinking. Topics covered include health concerns in New Zealand, alternative medicine, ethical considerations, and global poverty issues.
Your work will be assessed throughout the year. There will be three internal standards and one external standard offered.
