If you're interested in social policy and health issues, this may interest you. While having taken Level 1 Health is beneficial, new students are also welcome.
In this course, you will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of health issues in New Zealand on a personal, interpersonal, and societal level.
Ākonga (students) will be examining various aspects of mental health and working to develop, describe, and implement a plan of action to enhance the overall well-being of our school community. Additionally, you will be examining an important issue relating to personal safety when interacting with others to ensure that everyone feels secure and protected.
Your work will be assessed throughout the year. There will be two internal standards and two external standards offered.
Standard AS91236 - Evaluate factors that influence peoples' ability to manage change (internal)
Standard AS91237 - Take action to enhance an aspect of peoples' well-being within the school or wider community (internal)
Standard AS91238 - Analyse an interpersonal issue(s) that place personal safety at risk (external)
