I am an aspiring English teacher that wants to see his classroom flourish with discussion and writing. I was born in Washington D.C, but grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia. The teachers in the schools I attended have had an incredible impact on what kind of teacher I should be. The first thing you should know about me is my curiosity. I constantly ask questions and want to pass that curiosity to my students.
I know that this world is changing at a blinding pace. I want to equip my students with the skills needed to keep up with this world. What I can pass on to my fellow classmates is the understanding that everyone is different. Sometimes asking someone simply how they feel about something can prevent a lot of problems in the future. If you understand where people are coming from and know what they mean you can solve future problems you might have with students or others.
I have to learn more about different students in different aspects of life. I recognize my experience in a classroom is only one type of experience. So I have to learn about how to recognize different backgrounds and fully provide for each student no matter the background.
Hey William, I believe that I also have to expand my experience and try to work with kids of different ages and not only the toddlers I work with now. I feel like by doing this I will be able to spread my work options in the future. Why don't you try adding a little color or pictures it might spice it up a little lol
Hi William Nice to meet you!! I love what you said about wanting a healthy relationship with students. I feel like that its very important. It is through better relationship with teachers the better students will feel about going to school. -Amber Blount
Hi, William! I love how you mentioned you want to tailor your lessons towards your students needs/wants. That is so important and such a good strategy for being an effective teacher! Lessons need to be modified in order to reach our specific audience. Love your page! -- Stephanie Sterling
Hello William! First off, I love that you said you are always asking questions, I think thats great, and something I personally struggle with sometimes. Also I love your statement about how asking someone about how they feel about something can prevent problems, and I totally agree. I think asking people how they feel and really listening and trying to understand is an important part of teaching and in life in general.
Hi William! I loved how you mentioned that you love to ask questions and you want your students to ask questions as well. I do believe that one of the ways to know about something is to ask questions. I also love that you want to tailor your lessons to what your students needs. That says a lot of an aspiring teacher! I hope you have a great semester!-Michelle Jamison
