I am a junior here at ODU and am getting my degree in elementary education in hopes to teach lower elementary, k-2! I was born in Virginia and have lived in Virginia beach my whole life.
I've been working with children for over 3 years now, which is how I came to the realization that I want to be an educator. I used to be a mechanical engineering major and never really enjoyed what I was doing, but I always knew I loved working with kids and wanted to continue doing so. Now here we are, I switched majors last spring and have been loving what I'm learning and doing!
Some facts about me: my favorite food is sushi, I love dogs, I enjoy crocheting, I love earth tones and neutral colors, I enjoy being outdoors and am into fitness!
The cuties you are looking at are my kindergarteners! I currently work as a teacher assistant for kindergarten, which is not easy and can be very draining, but I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. The feeling I get when they greet me everyday and watching them grow is one that I want to have in my career!
Hi, Kendall I love your page it's very creative and educational. I really enjoyed your slides you make me want to redo my page. I also work as a teacher assistant however, I worked with head start children and I can relate it is very draining but rewarding. -Ciara Hinton-Wyatt
Hey Kendall! Your page is so cute! I love the pictures and bitmojis you included! I also want to teach lower elementary! I agree that kindness and patience are important traits to have as a teacher! Great work! - Olivia Brown
Hello Kendall, your page was awsome. It was really informative as to who you are and what you value as an educator. I have observed a 1st grade class for a couple of hours before, so I know what you mean when you say the kindergardeners drain you. I could not imagine teaching kids that age everyday and it takes a special person to do it. - Gabriel McMillan
