As someone who suffered from bullying my K-12 career, I know the lasting effects it can cause.
School can be difficult and we should all strive to make is a safe and happy place

We all have something to offer. We just have to work together and find it.
It's okay to say no. One person can't do it all.
I want to learn about the different backgrounds that my future students will come from so I can help all feel included.
Sometimes you have to take a step back, take a deep breathe before approaching issues in order to understand the other side.

My 10th grade AP European History teacher noticed how tired I was and let me sleep through my first period.
For my Senior project, I wrote a book detailing my childhood that I read to my fellow students and teachers. It was very hard and every one of my teachers helped keep me motivated to keep writing and when it was all done, we had a good cry together.
The biggest thing that was done was the mutual understanding of what I was going through and that I would need accommodations in terms of finishing assignments and extra help and for that I am forever thankful.
I want a nice balance between student-centered and teacher-centered teaching.
I will welcome feedback from all sources including students, their parents, co-workers and upper administration.
I want to be the teacher that students can look back and remember joy.
I prefer the academic and existentialism approach.
I want to include students in the process of how we learn. Students can come with some amazing ideas.
I want to create a safe space for my students and help them as much as possible but also foster a desire to learn and be themselves.
