I was born and raised in a small town in Missouri. My graduating class was 54 people. After graduation I knew I wanted something more than the small town life so I moved to Virginia. Here, I attended TCC at night until I became a resident of VA and could afford tuition at ODU. I got married in May 2020 to the absolute man of my dreams. He is in the Navy and is currently deployed so best wishes to him. I have known I wanted to become a teacher for as long as I could remember and now I get to live that dream. I am majoring in Early Elementary Education with hopes to teach second grade.
I will become a friend
I will become a mentor
I will become a shoulder to cry on
I will become an influencer
I will become someone to teach the next doctor, lawyer, or even astronaut
I will become disciplined with my students
I will become goal oriented

Shelby McCarthy- This is a great interactive page. I love that you did a bit of self reflection and want to work on those things to be a better teacher.
I love the Picture Heart Collage. My boyfriend is also in the military and currently stationed in Italy so I understand that feeling of them not being around. I love that you want to teach younger kids to dream big of becoming doctors and astronauts. Great page! -Elizabeth Mann
I Love your enthusiasm for becoming a teacher and that you recognize the need for teachers to acknowledge that some students may need more attention, and not necessarily academically. Thank you for your passion! - Kyrie Boyle

Your page is so sweet along with all of your words. You have clear goals and from what you said any student would be lucky to have you as a teacher! I definitely agree with need to learn the line between student and teacher, sometimes you just wanna be their friend. I am sure with time and experience we will Figure it out. Really Great job! - Rebecca Eckert
