Hiii!! I am Keira Coles, 20 years old. My birthday is October 31 and yes I am a Halloween baby! I am a Sophomore at Old Dominion University. My major is Early Childhood Education. I was born and raised in a little town called Victoria VA. Also graduated from Central Senior High School.
One of my influences to become a teacher is my mother. I choose my mother because she has always told me to achieve my goals and to believe in myself. I will do this because we need more teachers like myself in the school system. Another influence is my past 1st-grade teacher not only because she has passed away, but she was a role-model to me.
I can interact with students.
I can help students with their reading comprehension.
All students are not the same and they will learn at different concepts and pace.
I know how to make my classroom welcomed to my students.
I know how to present knowledge in a fun, but educational way.
I encourage my other classmates to work hard and achieve their goals.
I need to learn how to discipline my students the right way.
I need to learn not to procrastinate.
I need to learn how to be more confident in myself so my students will do the same.
I need to learn how to ask from fellow classmates or co-workers.
I would love to learn how to make lesson plans.
I need to learn how to handle parents when they approach me if their child gets in trouble.
I will become the cool teacher!
I want to become the teacher that any of the students can come to and talk with when they are having problems.
I want to become the strong-minded and helpful teacher.
I want to become the successful and powerful teacher.
I want to become the teacher that always has a positive vibe and attitude.
I want to become the teacher that changes the students preceptive of school.
I have always wanted to become a TEACHER!
Hey Keira! You look familar to me, maybe we took a class together one semester, I don't know lol. After viewing your page I really loved the statements you made under the 'What I have to learn" section. Overall, your page was cool! - Ceira Stewart
You have a good head on your shoulders and it sounds like you know who you want to be! I love how focused you sound! Keep your head up and go for your dreams! - Dina Buczkowski
First off I LOVE your shirt in the first picture and your Bitmoji is so cute, I wish I could have figured out how to get mine on my page. But I loved what you put in the "What I have to Learn" section. Learning to deal with parents is something that I didn't even think about! I also would say I need to work on my procrastination and self confidence. Im glad your mom is so supportive of you, and you are going to be a great teacher. Great job! :) -Elizabeth Mann
Keeks! I love your page. It is so eye catching and bright. You sound so confident and I am so excited to take this class with you. My mom is my inspiration too! Love you lots keeks -Annie Tulensru
Keira, beautiful page. I love that your color choices seem to echo the vibrancy of your personality. Procrastination is a fatal flaw of my own, though I work really hard to avoid it. I find that making "To Do" lists and actually following through with them helps. I also am looking forward to garnering tips for communicating with parents in the event that their child needs to be disciplined, though it is not an aspect of teaching I look forward to. I am hoping all of my teenage students will be perfect respectful angels and I will never need to discipline them (though I am not going to hold my breath, lol.) Thank you for your beautiful contribution to our class! - Kyrie Boyle
What an amazing page! I can definitely agree with learning to talk to parents. I feel like that is such a scary thing and I don't want to mess up. It was also cool to read that your mom was one of the reasons you wanted to become a teacher! -Kyra Shelley
