Who Am I?
I am Ciara N. Hinton- Wyatt. I am goofy, creative, smart, and ambitious. I am the older sister to three boys and the mother of a two-year-old boy. I was born and raised in Petersburg, Virginia. I am a college student at Old Dominion University majoring in Elementary Education. I have been working with children for a little over 10 years and I currently work for Petersburg City Public Schools as a paraprofessional at Westview Early Childhood Education Center. I have always had a passion to work with young children and I'm going to work hard to become a Pre-K or Kindergarten teacher.
What I Know?
As an educator I know I must be patient, caring, stern yet kind, understanding, respectful and uplifting to my students. I know that children are our future (I know that's cliché but it’s true) and they need people to help guide them in the right direction. By living and working in Petersburg, VA I know that some children do not have that support or guidance to be great adults or even have a happy childhood. I want to be that one teacher that they remember for the rest of their lives.
The Teacher I Will Become....
I will become a GREAT teacher.
I will become a teacher that is not afraid to take on challenging tasks.
I will become a teacher that will love and cherish teaching littles minds.
I will become the teacher that inspire children.
I will become a teacher to strive for excellence without pushing my student over the edge.
I will become the teacher that builds comfortability in the classroom.
I will become a teacher who makes a difference in children's lives.
What I have to learn?
To be open minded towards different teaching styles.
I can never learn too much.
It is okay to ask for help.
To be confident in everything I do.
Its okay to be wrong sometimes just find a solution to the problem.
Every student learns differently and that's okay because what works for some may not work for all.

Going through your author page I really loved and agree with a lot of things you said when it comes to teaching children they are truly our future! I also love all the visuals that you added on your page allows me to visualize and understand you a little more ! -Nijeeia Farland
Hi Ciara! First off, I love the Dr. Seuss reference! Secondly, I totally agree with your "What I know section," and the words you used to describe what characteristics a teacher has to be. Also I love that you put "its okay to ask for help" in your "what I have to learn section" because I struggle with that sometimes. -Chloe Hulls
